Great family owned restaurant. My absolute favorite restaurant in Tyler. Good service, delicious food, reasonable prices. The atmosphere feels more classy that McDonalds, but is not so hoity-toity that you feel uncomfortable if you are redneck like me. Nice family atmosphere, but also a nice place to bring a date. And the interior decor is lovely, with a strong Mexican flavor.

I highly recommend the cheese enchilada dinner, the beef steak tacos, and the rice.

Authentic Tex-Mex on The Square at its finest! Don Juans is a staple in the Tyler restaurant dining scene & has been around for many, many years. I just wish they had Horchata & were open a little later on weekends. Live music would also be a plus. I’ve been meaning to try their Menudo, but its only on Sundays, unfortunately.

I went to college at UT Tyler, and so want to move back. I live in Mt. Pleasant and drive back frequently for Don Juan’s. It is my favorite mexican restaurant and I always bring a friend to try it with me. I just found your site, and love it! So many memories are brought back and I get to learn new stuff about Tyler and what’s going on! Thanks!

Couldn’t have said it better myself. My absolute favorite. I go there at least once a week and when I don’t I start gettin the shakes for a taco…and those glorious chips and dips
