One of my favorite lunch eateries in Tyler is unfortunately one that I often forget… Eating lunch at Chez Bazan during the week is impossible due to the location of my office, but on the occasion I get off work early, or on a relaxing Saturday I love stopping in for one of their specialty sandwiches or salads.
However, the main reason Chez Bazan stays on my radar is not their lunch menu. Though their lunch is delicious, the shining star of Chez Bazan is it’s outstanding bakery. They offer a mouthwatering selection of cookies, pastries, fruit tartes, brownies, chocolate dipped fruit, etc., etc. I want to eat everything in sight each time I enter the store.
In addition to their bite-sized goodies, Chez Bazan also offers a wide selection of specialty cakes. I want to try them all, obviously, but of the few I have been lucky enough to sample, I must say their Black Forrest cake is to die for. Of their signature cakes, I’d especially love to taste the Almond Amaretto and the Apricot Cheese Cake. Seriously, how good do those sound?
As any bride in Tyler is certainly aware of, Chez Bazan creates some of the most exquisite cakes in East Texas. Any brides to be out there should check out their photo gallery at www.chezbazan.com then schedule an appointment for a consultation and tasting.
Finally, I must mention that Chez Bazan also has a specialty coffee bar where guests can chose from any number of hot, cold, or frozen coffee concoctions. So, whether you are in the market for a delicious lunch, a sweet pick-me-up, a morning latte, or a wedding or birthday cake, Chez Bazan has got you covered.

The CHEZ is awesome! It is owned and operated by the Bazan family and has been part of Tyler for like over 20 years! I love their lunches, especially their Chicken Salad! My favorite cake is the Italian Cream, but I have had them make a bunch of custom birthday cakes too. They even made my wedding cakes and my sister’s too (all three of my sister’s used Chez Bazan!) Remember “THE CHEZ” next time you’re out!
This bakery has had a good reputation for a long time, especially when the owner was alive but since that time I have had a bad experience here. I ordered cupcakes for my daughter’s birthday. (very expensive too). We took them out of town for the party and were very disappointed to find they were dry and appeared to be less than fresh. I returned to the bakery with my complaint and was told I could not get a refund – not even partial- because I didn’t have the cakes with me. We threw them out. It wouldn’t have done any good to return them when they definately would have been old. Very poor customer service. I would hate to have this happen with a wedding cake or other very expensive purchase.
[...] now been converted to a reception hall, complete with a food serving area. The food, provided by Chez Bazan, was presented beautifully and tasted great. Tables were set in a way fitting of a wedding [...]
Holy cow! This place is great! I had gotten a marble cake (chocolate and vanilla) for my nephews birthday party, we had to feed around 20 people, mainly adults, and about 8 kids. we were afraid that there would not be enough with the size we ordered, but the lady reassured me it was. sure enough, when we picked the cake up, it was not only decoration better then how i pictured, but bigger then expected also. almost very one had 2nds and there was still cake left over! so far best cake ever!! i am very satisfied with every thing Chez Bazan had done!! i will recommend them to every one!
Love all of these great captured memories !
